"Silent Steve" comes to The Busters with Kingdom experience already in hand via "King Steven the Brandes." At the audition, the band was able to go through quite a bit of material as he was already familiar with most of it. He is a quiet guy and so there's not a whole lot we're going to be able to say about him at this point. Hopefully, like a new puppy, we'll be able to get him to open up and then we'll be able to embellish on this bio page accordingly.
In our first official rehearsal with "Silent Steve," we went through an entire show with him and his work was (to put it mildly) "stellar." His musical dynamics were over-the-top as he got as quiet as a mouse at points and was just as loud and booming as necessary when the music called for it. Personally, he was still just as quiet as at his audition, but you could say that he let drum kit do his bidding for him. "Silent Steve" showed us some of his "Big Band chops" where he proved what he was all about behind a kit. The man was definitely influenced a lot by folks like Buddy Rich and Gene Krupa. This should work well in the show-band format of backing command performances for the King. It looks like the Busters have lucked out in finding this jewel of a drummer.
