The History of

"The Busters"

If it doesn't kill ya, it'll make you ...

Daddy, will you tell me your story about The Busters again? Please?!!!!

Well once upon a time..., in the land known as Ella-noise there was a bass lutist named Dub who loved playing music. Dub was lonely, but one day came across a little drummer boy by the name of John. Now John knew a sorcerer of gadgets, knobs and buttons associated with lute and piano who was known as Doc. One day, these three minstrels convened... and the group was born.

Now these minstrels knew that they could play magical tunes together, but they needed to become known in the Kingdom as a group with a name. They fussed and groused over this task for days. At one point, they actually thought of calling themselves "U3," getting a lead vocalist and call him "Bonehead," but they didn't want to upset the great vocal minstrel "Bono." They were concerned how his Irish temper would react to such an act. Now they were obviously very sad since the name "3-Stooges" was already taken as a known and trademarked name within the Kingdom. Then Dub stepped on John's toes in the middle of another fuss, which made John very cross at which point he responded, "Look Buster!" A simultaneous "ding" of lightbulbs was heard to illuminate. It was an Epiphanial moment! Luckily, the merry band's staff photog was there to capture the essence of the moment...

Working very, very hard, the band perfected over 8 hours of minstrel magic. They put together a (4-hour) show for William who was known as "King ELVIS the First" and a completely separate act for their friends, "the commoners" who frequented pubs in the merry land of Ella-noise. Soon thereafter, a falconer known as "Edward" also assumed the throne to become "King ELVIS the Second." Now this merry band went on to play one very successful command performance in a land far, far away in the Village of Troy on the other side of the Great Muddy River from the Kingdom of Ella-noise.

(cue the Minor Chords and the screeching violins of a Hitchcock thriller!)

Then John received a handsome offer from the busy minstrel "Mark Murphy" who knew of John's amazing talent as a drummer boy. He asked John to join his (almost as merry) band of minstrels. John reluctantly decided to leave his friends to take this offer to secure a stable, working position with minstrels in his own Village of Highland. With words like "Secure," "Stable" and "Working" it was obvious that John could no longer remain a member of The Buster Proletariat as dollar signs spun in his eyes like the wheels of a Dale Earnhardt carriage ! John's sizeable 13's were eventually replaced by "Silent Steve" who was familiar with music inside the Kingdom via "Steven the Brandes." "Silent Steve" lives close to Dub and the two quickly formed into a very tight rhythm section for The Busters.

Now at about the same time a 4th minstrel known as "Yimi" who was a longtime friend to Dub's, joined this merry band. Yimi was known throughout the land for his soulful lead capabilities as a sorcerer of gadgets, knobs and buttons associated with the piano. His compu-oriented, encyclopedic knowledge of hundreds of songs made him a good potential fit to help serve up all the sounds necessary for a full show-band.

It was quite a source of trial for Dub and Doc to explain the lavish nature of living within the Kingdom to minstrels who lived their whole musical lives outside as musical Serfs playing in pubs for the Commoners. Through their perseverence and luck in finding minstrels with real horsepower and bite, The Busters are now complete and able to deliver a complete package of The King's music.

(OK, time for the clouds to part, we need sunrays and an angelic chorus!)

The Busters are once again the fun-loving, musically serious band of merrymen for all the Kingdom of Ella-noise and points beyond the Great Muddy River. With:

Everything was in-hand. The Busters, tested by the fires of adversity, were stronger as a result and ready to push back the forces of evil to defend "Truth, Justice and The American Way!!!" ...or at least the Kingdom of Ella-noise (and points beyond the Great Muddy River) version of the same. ...and they all lived happily ever after.

THE END
